Film: GEORGIA O’KEEFFE: The Brightness of Light
Synopsis: One of the most significant artists of the 20th century, Georgia O’Keeffe is renowned for her contribution to modern art. The filmmakers were inspired after learning that in 1908, 20-year-old O’Keeffe gave up her dream of becoming an artist, and did not pick up a paint brush for nearly four years. As a student at the University of Virginia she discovered Arthur Wesley Dow’s philosophy which transformed her art, and her life. Showcasing O’Keeffe’s vibrant art, observations by curators and scholars, and excerpts from letters between the artist and her husband, photographer Alfred Stieglitz, the life of this remarkable artist is detailed.

Film: BARBARA WALTERS: Tell me everything
Synopsis: This film follows the fascinating life and career of Barbara Walters, a pioneer of women in broadcasting. “The film is a lot like its subject. It's sharp and inquiring in a playful way.” Variety “... a thrilling history of television journalism, as seen through Walters’s life.” NYT.

7:30 PM Film: CHECKPOINT ZOO
Synopsis: The film documents a daring rescue led by a heroic team of zookeepers and volunteers, who risked their lives to save thousands of animals trapped in a zoo behind enemy lines during the Russian invasion of Ukraine. “Checkpoint Zoo showcases a story of human compassion, bravery, and sacrifice during Ukraine’s darkest hours, shining a light on the best of humanity when it is all too easy to focus on the worst."

Feature Film: SUNDAY BEST - The Untold Story of Ed Sullivan
Synopsis: A cultural icon best known for introducing Elvis and the Beatles, Ed Sullivan had a much deeper effect on American culture and music than most ever realized. By booking black artists on his show, even in the face of pressure by advertisers and the network, Sullivan’s influence went a long way in breaking down racial barriers in America.
